Did you know that over 55 million people worldwide have Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia? June is National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, a cause that Interim HealthCare recognizes. The Alzheimer’s Association is working towards raising awareness this June by embracing the color purple. By wearing purple or participating in the Go Purple Challenge, we can contribute to raising awareness for Alzheimer’s.

How to Observe National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month
- Get Screened: The National Memory Screening Program provides a list of questions to help determine if Alzheimer’s Disease may be a concern for you or someone you know. It’s recommended to consult with your healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation.
- Take a Memory Walk: The Alzheimer’s Association hosts memory walks across the nation as a way to support patient care and research efforts. Participating in these walks also helps raise funds for the cause.
- Donate: Your monetary contributions are crucial in funding research aimed at finding a cure for these life-threatening brain diseases. This funding is also instrumental in the development of new medications to help slow the progression of the disease.
- Go Purple: Take the Go Purple Challenge or Wear Purple to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s. Purple is the official color of the Alzheimer’s movement.
