How to Spot Symptoms

People with the flu often experience fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches and/or fatigue. But how can you tell if you have a cold or the flu?

With a cold, your symptoms typically occur around your nose and face, as well as a sore throat. Cold symptoms onset more gradually than the flu and you may have a low-grade fever but you should not experience high fevers. It can also cause a cough but you should not experience shortness of breath.

With the flu, you may start to feel symptoms all of a sudden or all at once. You may experience all the previous symptoms mentioned before, but also, shortness of breath and dehydration.
